Q: Have you considered painting the cranes in LA?
March 12, 2019
A: Yes, the Port considered painting the cranes in LA but for a number of reasons we cannot do so.

March 19, 2019

Q: Is the Port accepting or equal paint systems or are you firm on the Sherwin Williams materials only?
March 20, 2019
A: The Sherwin Williams paint system and color specified in the RFP documents are to be considered “pre-approved” and are preferred by the PORT. Bidder must demonstrate in its proposal to the satisfaction of the PORT that any substitution is equal to the Sherwin Williams paint system and be in full compliance with all the requirements of the RFP documentation. Any proposed paint system(s) must be compatible with one another and substrates indicated, under conditions of service and application as demonstrated by manufacturer, based on testing and field experience. For other paint manufacturers to be used, paint color samples must be submitted to the PORT for approval. The PORT may select up to three hues of the main crane color for mock-up painting.

Q: How much, if any, shore power is/will the Port provide to the contractor performing the work?

Q: 1. Where can the drawing / detail sheets for the steel portions that are located underneath the main skeleton beams which are identified at B - G (main structure girders) on revised drawing B01101 - Main Skeleton Diagram? There seems to be a substantial amount of steel under here that is not indicated on any drawing sheets. Drawing sheet B01110-1 - main structure girder View A, Section D, appears to only show the section of the stiffener plates inside the girder beams. This steel could be viewed during the site visitation, but there do not seem to be any documents showing sizes / shapes. 2. Where can the details for the sizes of platforms, walkways and railings be located? Please advise.
April 05, 2019
A: Answer to Q1: On drawing B01101 the designations “B1 through B7” and “G1 through G9” are section cuts through the boom and main girder. These section are found along the bottom portion of the drawing. The external dimensions of the main girder shown on drawing B01110-1 can be found on drawing B01101 Answer to Q2: Addendum 3 will be issued later today or Monday a.m. to provide additional drawings

April 09, 2019

Q: Will the crane trolley be available for use for access during painting?
