Q: There are two items for mobilization and demobilization, one in base bid schedule A and one base bid schedule B. And a Mobe/De-mobe items for each alternate. Mobilization costs apply to the entire project and can not be assigned as an item by item basis. Specifically in the base bid, how are we to distribute the mobilization costs over the two items? For example 1/2 for A and 1/2 for B? Are both base bid schedules going to be awarded, or is there a scenario where only one of the base bid schedules can be awarded? There are no measurement and payment specs provided and we require clarification.
July 27, 2021
A: Mobilization and Demobilization should be distributed between the base bid schedules at the contractor's discretion. Both base bid schedules are planned to be awarded.
